1. Who we are
Carer Badge is a trading name of TRG Digital Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 11731704, at Suite Ra01, 195-197 Wood Street, London, England, E17 3NU. We’re registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ZC221613) and are the controller of the information you give us.
2. What we collect
When you build a profile we collect:
- your name, email address, mobile number and postcode;
- your role, how far you’ll travel, the settings you want to work in, the care you have experience in and your years in care;
- when you can work, the hours you want, when you could start and whether you drive;
- whether you have the right to work in the UK, whether you have the Care Certificate, and for registered nurses your NMC PIN;
- anything you write about yourself;
- the results of our checks (for example, that your mobile was confirmed by text code); and
- your agreement to share your profile, the wording you agreed to and when.
We don’t ask about your health, criminal record or other sensitive matters, and we ask you not to include them in your profile.
If you register as an employer we collect your service’s name and type, your name, work email, phone number, postcode, CQC location ID and the roles you recruit for.
3. How we use it
- To show your profile to care employers. With your agreement, CQC-registered employers can see your profile without your name, contact details or full postcode, and can ask to talk to you.
- To pass your details to an employer you say yes to. Only when you accept a request do we share your name, mobile and email with that employer.
- To check your details, so employers can trust profiles and the service isn’t misused. This is in our legitimate interests and those of carers and employers using it.
- To give you the free Care Certificate course with CareStream, if you ask for it, and to show on your profile when you’ve completed it.
- To send you occasional emails about care work and training, only if you ticked that box. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To meet our legal obligations, including as an employment agency.
We don’t make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects. Employers decide who to contact, and you decide whether to talk to them.
4. Who we share it with
Care employers. Your profile (without your name, contact details or full postcode) is visible to CQC-registered home care agencies, care homes and nursing homes in the settings you chose. Your contact details go only to an employer whose request you accept. Once they have them, that employer is responsible for them under its own privacy notice.
CareStream, run by the same company, to set up your free course and confirm when you complete it.
Companies that help us run the service, under contract and only on our instructions: Supabase (our database), Vercel (hosting), Ideal Postcodes (phone and email checks), Twilio (text codes and messages) and SendGrid (email).
We never sell your details, and we don’t share them with anyone else unless the law requires it.
5. International transfers
Some of our suppliers process information outside the UK, for example in the United States. Where they do, we rely on the UK’s adequacy regulations (including the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or contract terms approved by the Information Commissioner.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your profile while it’s active. If you don’t sign in or update it for 24 months, we’ll email you, and if you don’t reply we’ll delete it. If you ask us to delete it sooner, we will, except for a short record of any introductions we made, which we keep for up to one year after the last one, as required for employment agencies.
7. Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, withdraw your agreement at any time, and ask for it in a format you can take elsewhere. Email hello@trgdigital.co.uk. We’ll reply within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
